Extra help is urgently needed to set up the sound system in the Railway Club from 8.45am on Sunday mornings. No experience or special knowledge is required. If you are able to help in any way, please contact John Grundy.
Are You Thirsty?
It’s an amazing feeling when you are absolutely parched and then offered a long, cool, refreshing drink. It’s hard to resist, in fact silly to, as one could be in real danger of de-hydration, especially if in a hot climate or environment.
As silly as that would be, there are many people who are spiritually de-hydrating, thinking that they can ‘press on’ through this life without regular intervals to ‘drink in’ God’s life giving Word.
The people today in Nehemiah 8; recognised their need and were ‘thirsty’ to hear from God. They did not have to be brow beaten to pick up and read or listen to God’s Word, they, ‘told Ezra the scribe to bring out the book’ (Neh 8:1).
Are you thirsty to hear from God? The hymn says:
“Master, speak! Thy servant heareth,
Waiting for Thy gracious word,
Longing for Thy voice that cheereth
Master, let it now be heard.
I am listening, Lord, for Thee;
What hast Thou to say to me?”
Baptisms & Membership:
We should have a new baptism date shortly – hopefully to be announced next Sunday. Additionally, if you consider Bethel your spiritual home, please speak to the Pastor or one of the Elder team about membership.
Prayer Chain & Prayer List:
The e-mail prayer chain is a great way to keep up to speed and pray for the needs of the fellowship. Please see the Pastor if you would like to be added to this distribution. We are also hoping to produce the latest Members and Friends list shortly –PART along with the associated prayer list for daily use. If you would like prayer today.
Elders Meeting:
Please pray as the Elder team meet this Wednesday to discuss and pray through many things – keep in mind the AGM on April 19th.
Kerry Williams: Please do pray for Kerry who is in Mongolia for a further week serving with the Christian Veterinary Mission. Pray she will know Gods peace, presence and power as she serves in this way.
Baby James: Praise God for amazing answers to prayer for Baby James so far, but please keep on praying. It’s a miracle he’s still alive, so pray for another miracle! Our God is a great big God!
John Grundy was in hospital this week and is now recovering at home following an operation. Pray for John and Brenda and for a quick recovery for John.
On Monday 29 March a meeting of the Elders, Core Leaders and Trustees, together with the Buildings Group and Fund Raising Group, will be held to formulate a strategy / policy for fund raising for the church, particularly the Buildings Redevelopment Project.
A document will be produced for approval by the church members. Please will all those involved please keep this date free, so that as many as possible are able to attend. The meeting will be at 7.30pm at the church. For further information please see John Grundy.
Following the end of the service parents/guardians are asked to supervise their children at all times to minimise the risks associated with hot drinks. Parents/guardians are also reminded that members of the public enter the Railway Club premises during the morning, and children should be supervised at all times and following the service.
Members of the Prayer Team will be at the front of the room immediately after the services today if you would like someone to pray with you.
